1. Program Overview

The UMN Sustainability Immersion Program 2026 is an exciting 3-week short-term summer program taking place in July 2026. It offers students an enriching blend of academic coursework and hands-on cultural experiences in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia.

2. About the program

Hosted by Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), this dynamic program brings together students from all over the globe (previous batches welcomed over 60 participants from 10 countries). It gives students hands-on exposure to Indonesian culture and sustainable practices while fostering an international learning environment.

3. Financial details

This program is highly subsidized. The total program cost is USD 300.

  • ✅ Included: Dormitory accommodation, meals (3 times a day), airport pick-up, local transportation, and immersive cultural experiences.
  • ❌ Excluded: Flight tickets, visa fees (if required), and personal expenses.

Note for Faculty: UMN offers 1 free seat for a faculty member for every 10 students participating from the institution (covers all local costs except flights/visa).

4. Program Tracks

The core focus is on Sustainability Implementation intertwined with Indonesian Cultural Immersion.

5. Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to current undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines with a keen interest in sustainability and cultural exchange.
  • Participants must have a valid passport (or be in the process of applying for one).
  • Students are expected to commit to the full 3-week program duration.

6. Program Structure

The program runs for 3 weeks in July 2026 (exact dates TBA). It includes a dedicated 1-week immersive field experience. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a 3-credit course on Sustainability Implementation from UMN.

Open to all departments, particularly beneficial for those interested in Environmental Science, Management, Humanities, and sustainable development.
