1. Program Overview

The Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) International Scholarship 2026 is an in-house scholarship offered to international students looking to pursue their Undergraduate (Bachelor's), Master's, or Doctoral degrees at UNP in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

2. About the program

UNP provides opportunities for international students from all over the globe to experience high-quality education in Indonesia. Students will also be required to participate in BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing), a program designed to help them learn and communicate in the Indonesian language.

3. Financial details

The university offers two types of scholarships:

  • Full Scholarship: Fully covers tuition fees, one round-trip flight ticket, UNP dormitory costs, VISA/Student Permit/Health Insurance fees, and provides a monthly living allowance. (BIPA training is also fully covered).
  • Partial Scholarship: Covers 50% of the tuition fees, round-trip flight ticket, dormitory cost, and administrative/visa fees. Note: Monthly living allowances are NOT provided for partial scholarship awardees. BIPA training remains fully covered.

4. Program Tracks

The scholarships are provided for the maximum normal duration of the degree programs:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Maximum of 4 years
  • Master's Degree: Maximum of 2 years
  • Doctoral Degree: Maximum of 4 years

5. Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Non-Indonesian Citizen bearing a Non-Indonesian Passport.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and be willing to learn and communicate in Bahasa Indonesia.

6. Required Documents

All documents must be in English or officially translated prior to uploading:

  • Latest Color Photograph (Pass Photo) and Passport
  • Application Letter
  • Certificate of Graduation & Academic Transcript
  • Political and Employability Statement Letter (Template provided upon registration)
  • Statement of Parents’ Financial Support (For Partial Scholarship only)
  • Registration Form
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Recommendation Letter from the Indonesian Embassy
  • Recommendation Letter from Previous Education Institution

7. Application Process and Deadlines

📅 Official Application Deadline: May 31, 2026

Students must submit their applications directly through the UNP admission portal. The portal will close on June 1, 2026, so all submissions must be completed by the May 31st deadline.
