Dear Students,

We are pleased to announce the NITech MEXT Scholarship Program [Special Selection] for October 2026 Enrollment at Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech), Japan. This is an exceptional opportunity to pursue a fully-funded 2-year Master’s degree in Smart Energy Conversion technologies with Japanese Government (MEXT) scholarship support.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from recognized university
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics & Communication
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Computer Science/Engineering
    • Instrumentation
    • Other related engineering disciplines
  • Academic Performance: Excellent academic record
    • Minimum CGPA: 8.0/10 or equivalent
    • Strong performance in core engineering subjects
  • Language Requirements:
    • English proficiency required
    • TOEFL (80+ iBT) or IELTS (6.5+ overall) preferred
    • Medium of Instruction certificate acceptable for initial application
  • Research Aptitude:
    • Strong interest in energy conversion research
    • Relevant project experience preferred
    • Publications/presentations are advantageous
  • Health Requirements: Must meet Japanese visa health standards

Application Timeline (Critical):

  2. Academic Transcripts: All semesters (official, sealed, with English translation)
  3. Degree Certificate: Original or provisional (with English translation)
  4. Statement of Purpose (SOP): 1,000-1,500 words covering:
    • Academic background and achievements
    • Research interests in Smart Energy Conversion
    • Why NITech and this specific program
    • Career goals and how this program helps achieve them
    • Why you deserve the MEXT scholarship
  5. Research Proposal: 500-800 words outlining:
    • Proposed research topic
    • Background and significance
    • Methodology
    • Expected outcomes
  6. Letters of Recommendation: 2 letters from professors
    • On official letterhead
    • Sealed and signed
    • Should comment on academic ability and research potential
  7. English Proficiency Certificate:
    • TOEFL (80+ iBT) or IELTS (6.5+ overall)
    • OR Medium of Instruction certificate from IIT Madras
  8. Valid Passport Copy:
    • Must be valid until at least April 2027
    • At least 2 blank pages
  9. Medical Certificate:
    • From registered medical practitioner
    • Must follow NITech format (download from website)
    • Include TB test and vaccination records
  10. Photographs: 4 recent passport-size photos
    • 4.5cm x 3.5cm
    • White background
    • Taken within last 6 months
  11. CV/Resume: Detailed academic and professional background
  12. Publication List: (if applicable) with abstracts

Application Procedure :

  1. Step 1: Visit official website and download application guide

  4. Step 4: Request recommendation letters (give professors 2 weeks)
  5. Step 5: Get medical certificate and passport copy

  8. Step 8: Submit application and note the reference number
  9. Step 9: Email OGE with your application reference number
  10. Step 10: Prepare for potential interview in late January

Selection Process:

  • Document Screening: NITech faculty review all applications

  • Interview: 30-45 minute video interview
