Future with India Program – Inaugural Visit to Japan (8–9 March 2026)

We are pleased to invite applications from Master’s students and PhD scholars of IIT Madras to participate in a 2-day inaugural visit to Japan (8–9 March 2026) under the Future with India Program, in collaboration with Ochanomizu University (Japan’s first national women’s university) and the University of Tokyo (UTokyo).

This visit marks the official launch of the Future with India Mobility Initiative, which aims to strengthen academic and research collaboration between India and Japan by promoting joint research, advanced education opportunities, and cross-cultural engagement.

About the Visit

Selected participants will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities:

• Participation in the official program inauguration ceremony
• Academic interactions with faculty members and students from partner universities
• Cultural immersion activities at Ochanomizu University and UTokyo

All official expenses related to the 2-day program, including travel expenses, will be fully covered by the organizers.

Participants will accompany two women faculty members from IIT Madras and will serve as student ambassadors, representing IIT Madras at international academic forums.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to Master’s students and PhD scholars of IIT Madras
• Strong academic motivation and interest in international collaboration
• Preference will be given to women students, in line with the program’s objectives
