1. Scholarship Overview

The Darmasiswa Scholarship Programme 2026–2027, offered by the Government of Indonesia, provides international students an excellent opportunity to pursue non-degree studies in the Indonesian language, arts, culture, and other related fields at selected universities in Indonesia. The program aims to foster a deeper academic and intercultural understanding of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

2. Financial Coverage & Benefits

Awardees will receive the following financial support:

  • 💷 Living Allowance: IDR 4,700,000 per month.
  • 📚 Book Allowance: IDR 2,000,000 (one-off payment).
  • 🏠 Settlement Allowance: IDR 4,700,000 (one-off payment).
  • ✈️ Orientation: Accommodation and transportation provided during the Orientation Program (if arrival aligns with the MoPSE schedule).
  • Note: Awardees are advised to bring extra money (preferably in USD) for personal unforeseen expenses.

3. Eligibility Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a foreign national.
  • Must have completed secondary education or its equivalent.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old, with a maximum age limit of 32 years old (special for this year).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate in English (proven by TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or other applicable certificates).
  • Must be in good health (proven by a Medical Certificate).
  • Must possess basic knowledge of and a strong interest in the applied field.
  • Must not be a registered alumni of the Darmasiswa or Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship programs.
  • Must not be currently studying or working in Indonesia.

4. Required Documents

  • Curriculum Vitae/Resume (using the template provided on the Darmasiswa website).
  • Medical Certificate (in English).
  • Passport (valid for at least 18 months at the time of application).
  • Recommendation Letter from an Education/Professional Institution (on official letterhead with signature, in English).
  • Latest academic transcript and certificates (in English).
  • English language proficiency certificate (if applicable).
  • Certificates related to the applied field (if applicable).
  • Color passport photo.
  • Essay: Explaining the purpose of study (in English or Bahasa Indonesia, maximum 500 words).
  • Video: A full-body video (max 2 minutes, in English or Bahasa) explaining your motivation to join and how you will contribute as an ambassador of Indonesian culture.

5. Important Timeline (2026)

  • Online Registration: 15 May – 15 June
  • Embassy Interviews: 16 June – 23 June
  • Final Announcement: 14 July
  • Orientation in Jakarta: 29 August – 31 August
  • Lectures Start: Early September
