The UNSW Global Taste of Research – India Summer Practicum Scholarship Program at University of New South Wales (UNSW) Faculty of Engineering offers IIT Madras students hands-on research experience across 40+ engineering projects. AUD 5,000 scholarship available for 25-30 positions (Term 2 2026).

2. About the Program

UNSW Faculty of Engineering's initiative provides international students hands-on research experience within research groups, building pathways to HDR programs including joint PhD opportunities with IIT Madras. Highly competitive program attracting top talent from partner Indian institutions.

3. Financial Support

  • 💰 AUD 5,000 scholarship per selected student
  • 📚 Tuition fee: AUD 1,000 (WAIVED)
  • Additional expenses (self-funded):

4. Program Tracks

Single Research Track: Students work within UNSW research groups on 40+ advertised engineering projects. Maximum 3 project preferences allowed in application.

5. Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizenship: International students holding Indian citizenship
  • Institutions: Currently enrolled at IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, or IISc
  • Level: Undergraduate (1st-3rd+ Year) OR Postgraduate students
  • Academic Standing: Strong academic merit required
