St Andrews Global Fellowship Scheme 2026/27

We are pleased to share an excellent opportunity: the University of St Andrews Global Fellowship Scheme 2026/27. This fully funded fellowship invites distinguished international scholars for up to one month of in-person research visits (Aug 2026–Jul 2027) combined with year-round online engagement to foster research collaborations and knowledge exchange.

Eligibility
- Open to established scholars and emerging academic leaders across all disciplines (STEM, Humanities, Social Sciences, etc.).
- Applicants must hold an academic or research position, or be an active PhD researcher.
- Demonstrated research record and outputs (publications, impact, or equivalent).
- Research proposal should align with the interests of a St Andrews school or faculty and include a named potential host/collaborator.
- No institutional nomination from IITM is required — applicants apply directly to St Andrews.

Application Process :
- Identify a Host: Browse St Andrews schools and faculty to find a suitable collaborator: Academic Schools.
- Prepare Documents: Complete the 2026–27 application form (Word) and collate CV + 1–2 page research proposal.
- Submit: Email application to globalfellows@st-andrews.ac.uk by 2 March 2026 (17:00 GMT). Acknowledgement is expected within 3 working days.
Timeline
- Deadline: 2 March 2026 (17:00 GMT)
- Results: Expected May–June 2026
- Visit Window: 1 Aug 2026 – 31 Jul 2027 (dates can agreed with host)
Required Documents
- Updated CV (research focus)
- Completed 2026–27 application form
- Research proposal (1–2 pages: objectives, fit with St Andrews, expected outcomes)
- Details of proposed St Andrews host/faculty and preferred visit dates
- Optional: letter of support from proposed collaborator
Selection Process
- Applications undergo internal review and shortlisting by St Andrews.
- Successful applicants may be asked for further clarification or interviews (if applicable).
- Final selection communicated in May/June 2026 (expected).
Following Selection
- Awardees will receive formal visit support from the St Andrews Global Office (logistics, accommodation assistance).
- Post-selection, the fellow may need to complete any institutional forms required by St Andrews for visiting researchers.
- Visa, travel and insurance advice will be provided as needed; awardees are responsible for completing visa applications (if required).
Terms and Conditions:
- The fellowship requires online engagement during 2026/27 and one in-person visit of up to 4 weeks within the visit window.
- Award benefits listed by St Andrews are subject to the Global Office’s terms and usual academic conditions.
- Awardees may be required to submit a short report on outcomes following their visit.
