
IoE Student Mobility (Inbound)
The IoE Inbound Student Mobility Program provides opportunities for international M.S, Ph.D. and PostDoc students to conduct research and pursue academic activities at IIT Madras, fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Eligibility
Open to registered M.S; Ph.D. and PostDoc students from International Institutions.
Application Process
Awards will be made through a competitive call for proposals.
Interested applicants must submit a detailed proposal outlining the objectives, relevance, and expected outcomes of the proposed travel.
Applications should be made through IITM Faculty.
Selection Procedure
All proposals will undergo a thorough review and shortlisting by a designated committee.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to participate in an interview as part of the final selection process.
Preference will be accorded to over and above the funding provided by IITM.
Successful applicants will be awarded a Stipend as per IITM norms and airfare economy (round-trip)
Funding Details
Round-trip economy class airfare will be covered by the program
A monthly stipend will be provided as per HTRA norms for the approved duration of travel
Guidelines
Review incoming student applications from partner institutions/ research groups to assess alignment with your research areas.
Evaluate your lab's capacity and available resources to support visiting students.
Confirm your availability and schedule during the proposed visit duration.
Important Notes
Students must have a clear research proposal and identified faculty supervisor at IITM.
The duration of stay should be planned in consultation with both home and host institutions.
Students must comply with all visa requirements and institutional procedures.
Regular progress reports may be required during the visit period.
Students should ensure proper coordination between their home institution and IITM regarding academic credits and requirements.

IITM reserves the right to accept/decline applications based on research alignment, faculty availability, and other institutional criteria.
Students must maintain regular communication with both their home institution and IITM throughout the exchange period.
