M.Tech I2MP (International Interdisciplinary Masters Program)

The program brings together innovative curricula with IIT Madras’ award-winning pedagogy and research methodology. An interdisciplinary master’s degree at IIT Madras will serve to build a generation of students trained for present-day careers at the interfaces of traditional engineering and science disciplines. The two-year program is specially crafted for highly motivated top-tier international Science and Engineering students interested in an interdisciplinary master’s degree.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (total of 4 years) (OR)

  • Bachelors with honors (3+1 years) in science (OR)

  • Master's in science/ relevant background (05 years)

  • It is to be noted that Bachelor's with a duration of 03 years are not eligible for the admission process.

Application Procedure

Follow these steps to apply for the M.Tech program at IIT Madras:

Verify Eligibility

Confirm you meet the eligibility requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (4 years total), OR
  • Bachelor's with honors in science (3+1 years), OR
  • Master's in science/relevant background (5 years)

Note: Bachelor's degrees with only 3 years duration are not eligible.

Apply to IITM Portal

Submit your application through the IITM International Admission Portal. Complete all required fields and upload necessary documents including academic transcripts, statement of purpose, and recommendation letters.

Apply to ICCR Portal

Register and apply for the ICCR Scholarship through the ICCR Scholarship Portal.

Important: Applications without an ICCR Application Number will not be processed.

Once you clear the Institute eligibility norms, the department selection process will be communicated to you via email. This may include interviews, tests, or additional document requirements based on the department's criteria.
