NUT has had an academic partnership with IITM for over two decades and has fostered student exchanges and other collaborative relationships. 

It is our pleasure to inform you that NUT will host one student from IITM for a research internship as part of the ongoing exchange program detailed below.

Exchange Program Period 

(Research Internship) 

2 months (60-62days) between January 7th and March 15th, 2016. 

* I recommend 

Program Start Date: January 8th (Thursday) & 

Program End Date: March 10th (Tuesday) (Total 62 days) 

* If the participant wants to stay a few days longer, 

then, January 7th (Wednesday) till March 13th (Friday) (Total 66 days) is possible, however, 

the Jasso scholarship can be paid only for 2 months x JPY80,000. 

Support Details  

University Guest House (Shoryo Club) and hotel accommodation during the stay 

(During the above period, the university entrance examination will be held for 2-3 days. For these exam days, the student will be required to vacate NUT guesthouse, and stay in a designated hotel.) 

(Total approximately 200,000yen for Guesthouse/Hotel will be covered by NUT) 

Eligibility 

 

 

  • A postgraduate student whose area of specialization aligns with that of the host faculty / laboratory 
  • A PG student who is available to participate for the full duration of the program as stated above 
  • A PG student who can obtain approval from their faculty advisor, Head of Department, and Dean Academic Research 
  • A PG student who can undertake a research internship during the winter season when it snows

Domestic round-trip train ticket (Between Airport Station and Nagaoka Station) 

Living Expenses: JASSO scholarship 80,000yen/month x 2 months 

(for students who meet the eligibility requirements: Grade 2.3/3.0 and above) 

*Please note that international air fare between India and Japan is not provided by NUT. Please avail the travel allowance/refund system from your home institute, if any. 

 

***The host faculty will review all submitted CVs and select one candidate. Formal application documents will be provided to the selected student at a later stage.
