Sakura Science Program 2024

Dear Students,

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) invites Indian students to participate in the Indian University Student Invitation Program 2024 under the Sakura Science Program (SSP).

Program Details:

Duration of the program: 08 September to 14 September, 2024

No.of seats available to IITM: 05

The eligibility criteria set by the JST are given below:

1) Students:
(a) Who are interested in research and exchange with Japan, i.e., who has an interest in studying/working in Japan, and/or in conducting joint research with Japanese counterparts;
(b) Be outstanding in science and technology and have strong intention to study and/or work in the area of science and technology in the future;
(c) Be 18 years old or older on the date of arrival in Japan;
*Please note that those who have been offered a job at companies etc. and decided to work there are not eligible.
(d) Be enrolled in an undergraduate/master/PhD. course;
*It will be quite good if the students are freshmen/sophomores/master course students.
(e) Have Indian Nationality
(f) Have strong proficiency in oral and written English to understand and express thoughts without any difficulty;
(g) Have good general manners;
(h) Must be in good health conditions;
1) Not have any chronic disease or serious food allergy, making the program implementation difficult;
2) Require physical health to move in an efficient manner as a member of the group and to participate in tightly scheduled program that involves long-hour travels.
 

Expenses covered:

The travel and accommodation expenses are covered by JST. Attached is the tentative program itinerary.

Nomination deadline: 31 May 2024, 06:00 PM IST

Interested students can submit the nomination in the Google form.

1) Letter of Approval from Faculty advisor (If it is email approval, include the email screenshot)

2) CV

3) Statement of Purpose (include your research interest, goals, and achievements)

4)Official Transcript

5)Passport copy

Please note that incomplete documents and late submissions will not be considered.
