GEM Trailblazer Summer 2026

Dear Students,

We are pleased to announce the GEM Trailblazer Summer Programme 2026, offered by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. This is NTU’s signature summer school, scheduled for July 2026, designed for undergraduates who wish to combine credit-bearing courses with a rich cultural immersion experience in Singapore – a vibrant hub in the Asia-Pacific region.

Programme Overview:

• Duration: July 2026 (2-week and 4-week sessions, exact dates to be confirmed; 2025 ran from 23 June – 19 July).
• Courses: More than 35 courses across 5 tracks:
  • Track 1 – Language & Cultural Studies
  • Track 2 – Entrepreneurship & Innovation (2-week sessions)
  • Track 3 – Creative Design & Media
  • Track 4 – Success in the Globalised Marketplace
  • Track 5 – New Technologies, New World
  Courses are taught entirely in English (except language courses). Intensive courses carry 26–52 contact hours. Students may register for up to 2 courses, provided timetables do not clash.
• Eligibility: Undergraduate students currently enrolled in an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 2.5/5.0 (or 2.0/4.0). English proficiency is required if English is not the medium of instruction.
• Credits: All courses are credit-bearing (measured under NTU’s Academic Unit system). Transcript provided upon completion.

Application Timeline (expected, based on 2025):

• Partner Nomination: January 2026 onwards
• Nomination Deadline: 15 March 2026
• Application Opens: Early February 2026
• Application Deadline: 31 March 2026

Note: All students must be nominated by their home university before applying (this applies to both Exchange and Fee-paying students).

Programme Fees (based on 2025 rates; 2026 to be confirmed):

• Exchange Students (from partner universities):
  • Tuition Fee: Waived (up to 2 courses)
  • Registration Fee: SGD 153 (~USD 115)
  • Administrative Fee: SGD 917 (~USD 688)
  • Total (1–2 courses): ~SGD 1,070 (~USD 803)
• Fee-paying Students:
  • Tuition Fee: SGD 1,742 (~USD 1,308) per course
  • Registration Fee: SGD 153 (~USD 115)
  • Administrative Fee: SGD 917 (~USD 688)
  • Total: One course – SGD 2,812 (~USD 2,111); Two courses – SGD 4,554 (~USD 3,419)

All fees are inclusive of 9% GST (effective from 1 Jan 2024).

Accommodation:

Students will be housed in NTU’s on-campus Halls of Residence (double occupancy, co-ed by floor/wing). Meals are available at affordable campus outlets.

• Air-conditioned Rooms: 2-week – SGD 650; 4-week – SGD 1,300
• Non Air-conditioned Rooms: 2-week – SGD 570; 4-week – SGD 1,050

Information Sessions:

NTU organises multiple Zoom/Teams sessions from Dec–May, featuring course instructors and programme advisors. Pre-arrival briefings for confirmed participants take place in June. The 2026 schedule will be published closer to the application period.
