About CMFT

CMFT conferences, organized every four years (roughly) since 1989, have formed itself as one of the main international conferences in the field of complex analysis. These conferences have made special emphasis to promoting the creation and maintenance of contacts with scientists (including both junior and senior) from diverse cultures. In particular, the meetings have been one of the key international platforms in the field for junior researchers in complex analysis.

The series of conferences CMFT goes back to 1989, when the first conference was held in Valparaıso, Chile. Since then, eight more conferences have been held: Penang, Malaysia (1994), Nicosia, Cyprus (1997), Aveiro, Portugal (2001), Joensuu, Finland (2005), Ankara, Turkey (2009), Shantou, China (2013), Lublin, Poland (2017), and an online con- ference (organised from Valpara ́ıso, Chile) in 2022. In addition, a CMFT workshop was held in Guwahati, India (2008).

The information about the previous CMFT Conferences can be seen from the following site: http://www.cmft.de/cmftconf.php

CMFT has been having its own journal, which is currently being published by Springer. Please visit: https://link.springer.com/journal/40315

Aims of the conference

  • Scientific discussions and networking in the fields (including but not restricted) to function theory, complex variables in general, geometric function theory, approximation theory and scientific computation.

  • Possibilities for junior researchers in the conference key fields to maintain international contacts and scientific co-working with senior researchers.

  • Financial support for participation for early career researchers (female in particular) from developing countries.

  • CMFT Prize awarded for an early career representative of less than 40 years of age (selected by a prize committee), representing one of the main fields of CMFT.

Significance and importance of the conference

CMFT conferences have been important international platforms for early career researchers in the fields of complex analysis and computational methods to create and maintain scientific contacts with senior colleagues representing diverse cultures. The primary emphasis is to promote collaborative research networks involving the participants, in particular early career mathematicians. Plenary and invited talks will be aimed at providing an exposure to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows about the latest trends in the topics of the conference. In particular, there will be sessions on open problems in the fertile areas of the above topics. The conference will also provide an opportunity to the early career researchers to showcase their work and obtain feedback from leading experts in the field.

Another important aspect of this meeting is to provide a platform for young researchers in India through the International workshop (proposed to be hosted during December 3 - 5, 2026 at IIT Madras) by providing a series of lectures by leading experts on modern research topics which are currently active. The platform will provide a series of open problems, conjectures, and challenging research issues.

Topics

Geometric function theory
Harmonic analysis
Analytic number theory
Approximation theory
Operator theory
Holomorphic function spaces
Numerical aspects in complex analysis
Value distribution theory

Organization of the conference

The conference will consist of plenary lectures (50 minutes each) (typically 9, including the CMFT Prize Awardee), 25 invited lectures (25 minutes each), three to four of parallel lecture sessions for contributed lectures (each lecture being of 15-18 minutes), and poster sessions. Substantial part of session talks will be invited. Discussions with small groups of participants will be encouraged.

Conference Proceedings: As for the proceedings of the CMFT conferences, speakers therein (plenary speakers in particular) will be encouraged to submit their papers to the CMFT Journal, Springer, where all of the submitted articles will be processed according to the standard refereeing process.

Note: Other details such as registration, abstract submission, contact information, travel and visa information, etc. will be updated in due course.
