International Conference on Flow Visualisation and Imaging Techniques

IIT Madras, Chennai, India | 13-15 February 2026

Pre-Conference Workshop | 10–12 February 2026

The beauty of fluids

The Beauty of Fluids Contest invites participants to showcase the visual elegance and artistic wonder inherent in fluid motion. Through a thoughtfully designed poster or a carefully crafted video, the contest highlights the patterns, structures, and graceful dynamics that emerge in natural, experimental, or simulated flows. The focus is on both the technical insight and the aesthetic narrative that fluids convey—how they swirl, break, merge, ripple, or form mesmerizing structures. This event celebrates the synergy of science and art, inspiring us to pause, observe, and appreciate the profound beauty of fluids in motion. Top entries will be awarded for their creativity, presentation, and scientific insight.

submission guidelines

  • Content and Ownership: By submitting an entry, authors agree that their work may be made publicly available under a non-commercial sharing license. Authors retain full copyright and may reuse their work in future publications.
  • Type of Submission: Each group may submit either a poster or a video on a given topic. Poster and video versions of the same work are not allowed.
  • Eligibility: All submitters must be registered participants of the conference.
  • Submission Deadline: All entries must be uploaded before the specified deadline (date and time to be announced on the conference website).

Poster Submissions

  • Posters should focus on the visual and scientific appreciation of fluid motion.
  • Posters must include images/graphics with concise explanatory text.
  • Names and affiliations of all authors must be clearly displayed.
  • Posters should not contain extensive formulas or technical derivations; the emphasis is on clarity, visual appeal, and scientific insight.
  • Technical research posters should be submitted separately through the standard scientific poster track (if applicable).

Video Submissions

  • Videos must be in MP4 or MOV format, preferably at 1920 × 1080 resolution.
  • Maximum duration is 3 minutes; longer videos will be cut at the time limit.
  • Names and affiliations of all authors must be clearly displayed.
  • Each video must begin with a black title screen displaying: Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s)
  • Audio narration is permitted. Any accompanying music or sound must be copyright-free or properly licensed.
  • Videos may depict laboratory experiments, natural flows, high-speed imaging, CFD simulations, or any visually engaging fluid phenomenon.
  • Multiple Entries: Authors may submit multiple entries, provided each entry covers a distinct topic.
  • Note: All submissions should be sent to the email ID: icfvit2026@gmail.com. For poster submissions, please attach the files directly. For video submissions, please share a Google Drive link with ‘Anyone with the link can view’ enabled.
