Established in 1959, the Department of Applied Mechanics & Biomedical Engineering (Rechristened in 2023) has evolved into a comprehensive interdisciplinary graduate research department. Its foundation lies in three core domains: Biomedical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, and Solid Mechanics.
