We are happy to announce the above programme for 2023 – 2024 and invite applications from students from your institution.
“Combined Study and Practice Stays for Engineers from Developing Countries (KOSPIE) with Indian IITs” is a programme exclusively offered to M.Tech scholars in IITs. It is based on an MoU between the IITs and the TU9.
This scholarship programme funds students from all 23 IITs to work on their master’s thesis at the German host university, one of the TU9 Technical Universities. The TU9 is a consortium of the nine leading technical universities in Germany, amongst them RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, TU Dresden, and others.
Application procedure:
- Apply online on the DAAD portal
- Download the application summary generated through the DAAD portal
- Fill out the given form and upload the generated form (from the DAAD portal).
- Office of Global Engagement will nominate the selected candidates
The deadline to apply online for the candidates to the DAAD is 1st April 2023.
The deadline for the candidates to submit the required documents in the google form is on 5th April 2023.
PS: No direct applications from the scholars will be accepted. The nominated scholars should have completed all the required credits at home at IIT. They should also have a confirmed placement at the host TU in Germany.
M.Tech. (2-year programme) scholars in their 2nd semester and Integrated or Dual Degree scholars in their 8th semester with a minimum 8.5 CGPA are eligible to apply.
The programme at the respective Technical Universities in Germany will begin on 1st September 2023 with a month-long German language course.
The DAAD scholarship application procedure is online, similar to the previous years. The applicants must apply online and upload all required documents through the application portal www.portal.daad.de. The announcement and details are available on the website www.funding-guide.de.
Important
- Nepali and Bangladeshi nationals enrolled for their MTech degrees at the IITs are also eligible for this scholarship.
- TU Berlin and Stuttgart are not accepting any students this year, too.
- No applications for the KIT Campus Alpin, Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be accepted.
- From 2023 onwards, TU Munich will not provide accommodation in their university hostels.
- This might also be the case with some other TUs. Applicants are requested to kindly check with the International Office of the respective TU.
