Dear Students,
We are very glad to inform you about the Hokkaido University President’s Fellowship for 2023.
Self-supported international students with excellent academic records as well as a strong interest in Hokkaido University and in Japanese culture are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Requirements :
(1) Applicants must be current or alumni students of universities that have concluded Inter-University Exchange Agreements and a Memorandum of Understanding on Student Exchange with Hokkaido University. Students who are already enrolled at Hokkaido University can not apply for this fellowship. Applicants must be self-supporting, without other scholarships or fellowships when enrolling in Hokkaido University.
(2) Applicants must possess a GPA that is in the top 25% of their class or an equivalent level at their home university (Applicants who possess equivalent GPA levels must be certified by the president of their home university).
Application Deadline: January 6th, 2023
In principle, monthly stipend will not be paid during the period that research students study in their home country, and it will be started after they arrive in Japan. However, for regular students, monthly stipend will be provided even during the period when they study in their home country. Please note that this policy may be changed by the epidemic situation of COVID-19.
